We See You: Mental Health, Safety, and Solidarity in Dark Times

We See You. We're Here With You.

If you're reading this right now and you're struggling—if the weight of the world feels too heavy, if the news cycle is crushing you, if you're scared for yourself or the people you love—we want you to know something: You are not alone. You matter. And this community has your back.

These are troubled times. We're watching minorities being targeted, rights being stripped away, hate being normalized, and fear being weaponized. If you're LGBTQ+, a person of color, an immigrant, neurodivergent, disabled, or anyone who's ever felt like an outsider—you're feeling it. The world can feel hostile, unsafe, and exhausting.

But here's what we know: Aliens stick together.

What Exoticool Is Really About

Exoticool isn't just a clothing brand. It's a rebellion. It's a signal flare for outcasts, misfits, and anyone who refuses to be erased.

We started this because we needed it ourselves. Two gay outcasts in Eugene, Oregon, sitting in a trolley car at the Old Spaghetti Factory, dreaming of a world where we didn't have to shrink ourselves to survive. Where we could be loud, visible, and unapologetically ourselves. Where freedom, equality, and anti-hate weren't just buzzwords—they were the foundation.

That's what this is. Every design, every piece, every word we write is a reminder: You belong here. You are seen. You are valued.

When you wear Exoticool, you're not just wearing a shirt. You're wearing a statement. You're part of a community that says: We will not be silent. We will not go quietly. We are here, and we matter.

Mental Health Is Not a Luxury—It's Survival

Let's be real: taking care of your mental health right now isn't some self-care Instagram aesthetic. It's survival.

When the world is hostile, when your existence is politicized, when you're constantly bracing for the next attack—it takes a toll. Anxiety, depression, burnout, rage, grief—it's all valid. It's all real. And it's okay to not be okay.

Here's what we need you to hear:

Your mental health matters. Full stop. You are not weak for struggling. You are not broken for needing help. You are human.

Rest is resistance. In a world that wants to grind you down, taking care of yourself is an act of defiance.

Community is everything. You don't have to carry this alone. Reach out. Lean on people. Let others hold you up when you can't stand on your own.

Safety First: Don't Go Out Alone

We need to talk about physical safety too. Hate crimes are rising. Harassment is real. And if you're visibly queer, trans, a person of color, or otherwise marginalized—you know the fear of just existing in public spaces.

Here's our ask: Don't go out alone if you can help it.

Bring a buddy. Bring two. Travel in groups when you can. Look out for each other. Check in. Make sure everyone gets home safe.

Practical safety tips:

Share your location with trusted friends when you're out

Have a code word or phrase to signal if you need help

Trust your gut—if something feels off, leave

Know where the exits are, always

Keep your phone charged and accessible

If you witness harassment, intervene safely or get help—don't be a bystander

We're Building Something Different Here

Exoticool is more than merch. It's a movement. It's a safe space. It's a reminder that you're not alone in this fight.

We're pro-freedom. Pro-equality. Anti-hate. Always.

And we're building a community where outcasts, rebels, and aliens can find each other, support each other, and remind each other that we matter. We belong. We are not going anywhere.

So if you're struggling right now—reach out. Talk to someone. Lean on this community. We've got you.

And if you see someone else struggling—check in. Show up. Be the buddy system. Be the safe space. Be the reason someone makes it through another day.

We are all aliens. And aliens take care of their own.

Stay Safe. Stay Connected. Stay Alive.

The world needs you here. This community needs you here. We need you here.

You are not alone. You are seen. You are valued. And you matter—always.

With love and solidarity,
The Exoticool Crew
